Incident details fields by feed

What the per-incident details object contains for each Australian emergency feed: the agency-specific extra fields (resources, units, official source links, CAD IDs and more), their types and meanings.

The details field

Every incident the API returns can include a details object. This is agency-specific extra data that DataQuoll passes through from the source feed: responding resources, official source links, dispatch IDs, alarm levels, and free-text notes.

Two things to know before you build on it:

  • It is optional and varies. What appears in details depends on the agency AND the specific incident. One feed's description is structured text, another's is a place name. Some incidents carry a rich block, some carry nothing.
  • Render what is present. Read the keys you actually receive rather than expecting a fixed set, so your UI shows the extra insight when an agency provides it and stays clean when it does not.

The API only carries what the agency publishes. If a source gives a location and type but no written description, that incident stays light on detail no matter what.

Field shapes are verified against live data. A drift check flags if a feed starts emitting a field that is not listed here, so this table stays accurate.

Feeds with no extra details

These feeds carry no agency-specific details (the object is absent or empty). You still get the full normalised incident fields: type, severity, status, location, coordinates, and timestamps.
