Frequently asked questions
Yes: 2,000 requests a month, up to 5,000 in total with /incidents/nearby, with no card required. It reads all 44 feeds, not a cut-down subset. It is for evaluation, or personal and non-commercial use, and you attribute the source agencies. Commercial or business use needs a paid plan.
No. Every plan reads every feed, and live incidents, river gauges and industry calendars are on every plan including free. Paid tiers buy request volume, history lookback and export formats. Three lookup products are priced separately: hazard history at 100 free lookups a month then blocks of 1,000; Declarations-tab lookups in the dashboard at A$1 each from a prepaid wallet, or A$50 a month for 100; and the declarations API, which comes with the Organisation licence.
Requests over the limit are refused. You get a 429 telling you the limit you hit, with standard RateLimit and Retry-After headers so your client can back off cleanly. On the free tier, using up the general requests leaves /incidents/nearby working up to 5,000 in total. Nothing is queued and nothing is billed as overage, so there is no surprise invoice. Your quota resets at the start of each month, or you can upgrade to keep going straight away.
Annual plans cost nine months of the monthly price, so you save 25% and get twelve months. Starter is A$81 a year against A$9 a month, and the same ratio holds up the ladder.
Yes, at any time. Plans are month to month unless you choose annual billing, and moving up or down takes effect on your next invoice.
GeoJSON and JSON on every plan, including the free tier. CSV and CAP-AU Atom export unlock at Developer. The CAP Atom feed validates against the CAP-AU Profile v3.0.
All data is stored and processed in AWS Sydney, on SOC 2 Type II infrastructure. The specifics are set out in our service level commitments and security page.
Yes, on a paid plan; the free tier is not for commercial use. It is also subject to the licences the issuing agencies publish under. Every record carries its source and licence so you can check, and the full position is set out on our compliance page.
