Datasets
DataQuoll is a data platform. It aggregates Australian public data that agencies publish fragmented, in formats never designed for software, normalises it into one schema, and turns it into a single view of a location: what has happened there, what is happening now, and the conditions around it. Each dataset below says what it is, what it covers, how fresh it is and where it comes from. 44 official and community sources are polled today.

Coverage: The official state and territory emergency services feeds plus national sources (earthquakes, satellite hotspots). Which agencies are carried, and how fresh each one is, is published per jurisdiction on the States reference page.
Which local government areas sit inside a formally declared disaster area.
Coverage: Declarations published by the Commonwealth and by the states that gazette them; each declaration records its source instrument and the LGAs it names.
Water levels from state monitoring networks with BoM flood classes and verified datums.
Coverage: Gauges on the state water portals we poll plus the BoM flood-warning network; every gauge record states its source, its staleness horizon and whether a published flood class exists.
What official sources recorded near a point, unioned with the declarations covering its local government area.
Coverage: The locatable part of the historical archive plus the live-era incident history and the declarations layer. Of the archive, 4.1 million of 4.9 million records carry a usable location, and 1,022,506 of those sit at a postcode centroid rather than at an address; both facts are reported in every response so a reader can see what a match meant.
Where responders come from: police, ambulance, fire and SES facility locations nationally, searchable by radius around a point.
Coverage: 8,888 facilities, measured 2026-09-25. By class: 4,486 rural and country fire, 1,569 policing, 1,170 ambulance, 921 SES, 738 metropolitan fire, 4 other. By jurisdiction: NSW 2,813, VIC 2,006, QLD 1,669, WA 980, SA 822, TAS 386, NT 152, ACT 57. Three Australian Federal Police facilities in the Indian Ocean Territories carry no state code, because they hold WA postcodes but sit roughly 2,600 km from WA; they are returned by radius search and never by a state filter.
RDOs, public holidays, school holidays and shutdowns per jurisdiction, verified against the official lists, and whether a date is a working day.
Coverage: NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT and NT for 2026, one edition each, from the ETU, CEPU and CFMEU branch calendars. TAS and NT are construction-industry calendars because no electrical branch publishes one; the 98 Queensland regional show holidays are carried with the area each applies to.
Official documents from each publisher, versioned and kept after the publisher deletes them. South Australia Police media releases first.
Coverage: South Australia Police media releases, collected continuously since 26 September 2026 from all 16 of its listing sections: the front page lists, four metropolitan districts, seven regions, traffic, public transport and missing persons. 498 releases measured 27 September 2026. Other publishers are added one at a time and listed at /api/v1/publishers.
4.9 million historical incident records, earliest 1840, queryable and snapshot-able.
Coverage: Continuous coverage from the 1930s with sparse earlier records; depth of lookback is gated by plan. Coverage before the platform began polling depends on what the absorbed historical sources recorded.
